Community-Based Recreation

Easterseals provides guided community-based recreation programs. Our trained staff offers personalized opportunities for individuals with disabilities to play and have fun while working on practical skills, including socialization, fine and gross motor skills, attention to task, self-awareness, and more. Programs are offered throughout the year at various facilities throughout Central PA. Not only does this provide participation in recreational experiences, but it also gives them a chance to engage in their community. Bowling 

Strike up new friendships while having fun with this 8 week bowling program! Proper bowling techniques will be taught along with an explanations of the rules and scoring. Participants will improve hand-eye coordination, socialization, and range of motion. Adaptive ramps and other modifications are available. Each night will include 2 games, pizza or hot dog, chips, and a drink. Offered at alleys in Cumberland, Dauphin, and York counties.

Adaptive Sports

Participate in seasonal sports activities including pickleball, basketball, baseball, tubing, and kayaking. Recreation staff and trained volunteers come together to provide fun activities that provide equal recreational opportunities, improve overall well-being, and create lifelong memories.
